We requested live quotes for native BTC to USDT, and back, from L2Pass Swap and other cross-chain services, on October 19, 2026, with the same amounts for every provider. For 0.01 BTC to USDT, on Tron and on Ethereum, L2Pass RFQ by NEAR Intents returned the most USDT, and side by side in the web interfaces it beat the THORChain app on every pair, in regular and private mode. For 1,000 USDT on Tron to BTC, Relay returned the most BTC. The L2Pass fee on BTC swaps is up to 0.2%, included in every amount below.

Results at a glance

THORChain is compared by what its own app shows. Its raw protocol quote does not include the app’s fee and is higher than what a user sees in the app. We mark it separately in the tables below.

How we compared

  • When: October 19, 2026, from 18:21 UTC. Times are noted for each table. BTC was about 81,700 USD.
  • How: the same quote requests each provider’s web interface makes, with the same amounts. No swaps were executed.
  • What we compare: the amount you receive, after the provider’s fees and the destination network fee.

Live quotes

Quotes at 18:21 UTC.MAYAChain does not support Tron.* A protocol quote is the raw number from the protocol’s own quote service. Apps built on it, including the official THORChain app, add their own fee, so users see less. See the interface check below.

Instant exchanges through Trocador

Trocador compares instant exchanges such as FixedFloat, StealthEX and ChangeNOW. We requested the same swaps there between 18:32 and 18:34 UTC. L2Pass quotes for BTC to USDT on Tron were refreshed at 18:28 UTC for comparison. Trocador shows BTC amounts to five decimals. Trocador’s privacy rating (A to C here) reflects each exchange’s terms, privacy policy and refund practice when a user refuses verification. Trocador notes that any exchange can still pause a swap and ask for KYC or AML checks. Floating amounts are estimates and are re-priced when your deposit confirms; fixed amounts are locked.

Interface check: L2Pass vs the THORChain app

Checked side by side in both web interfaces on October 19, 2026, at about 18:50 and 19:05 UTC. The THORChain app offers a regular swap and a private swap powered by Houdini Swap. At the time of the check, the THORChain app said swaps without a connected wallet were paused, so a Bitcoin wallet had to be connected. L2Pass accepts BTC from any wallet or exchange through a one-time deposit address.

What the numbers show

  • L2Pass beat the THORChain app on every pair we checked in both interfaces, in regular and private mode. Relay returned the most for USDT on Tron to BTC.
  • Tron delivery costs vary a lot. THORChain charged a 3.36 USDT outbound fee to Tron, and L2Pass charged 1.71 USDT.
  • Instant exchanges cost more. ChangeNOW and SideShift returned 4 to 24 USDT less on 0.01 BTC.
  • Bitcoin confirmations set the pace. Every native BTC swap waits for Bitcoin blocks, so a 4-second relayer still takes minutes in total.
  • Private swaps cost more everywhere, but less on L2Pass. L2Pass Private returned 8.55 USDT more than Houdini Swap in the THORChain app.

Which one to use

  • BTC to USDT on Tron: L2Pass RFQ returned the most and accepts BTC from any wallet or exchange.
  • BTC to USDT on Ethereum: L2Pass RFQ returned the most of the providers we checked.
  • USDT to BTC: Relay returned the most in our test. L2Pass shows Relay’s routes where Relay supports the pair.
  • Private BTC swaps: L2Pass Private.

Yes. L2Pass Swap needs no account or KYC for regular use. A provider may request extra checks for a specific transaction.
Not in our checks. Comparing what both web interfaces showed on October 19, 2026, L2Pass returned more than the THORChain app on every pair, for example 817.11 USDT against 814.86 USDT for 0.01 BTC to USDT on Tron. THORChain’s raw protocol quote is higher than its app shows, because the app adds its own fee.
