What is L2Pass Swap and how does it work?
What is L2Pass Swap and how does it work?
L2Pass Swap is a non-custodial interface for swapping tokens across chains. It compares quotes from several independent routing providers, such as native bridges, solver networks and aggregators, and lets you execute the best route with a single confirmation.
Can I bridge the same token between chains?
Can I bridge the same token between chains?
Yes. Same-asset transfers, such as USDT from Tron to Ethereum or USDC from Arbitrum to Base, work the same way as swaps. Native routes like USDT0 and Circle CCTP are offered alongside other routes when available.
What assets and networks can I use?
What assets and networks can I use?
Stablecoins are the main focus, but major assets such as ETH, BTC, SOL and ZEC are supported too. The current list of tokens and networks is shown on the
swap page
and may change over time.
What is price impact?
What is price impact?
Price impact is the change in execution price caused by trade size relative to available liquidity.
What is slippage?
What is slippage?
Slippage is the difference between the quoted price and the final execution price due to market movement.
Can I configure slippage tolerance?
Can I configure slippage tolerance?
Yes. The default tolerance is 0.05%, and you can change it from any route card. Some routes, such as native USDT0 and USDC bridges, have a fixed output, so slippage does not apply.
What is the expected output?
What is the expected output?
The expected output is the estimated amount you will receive on the destination network under current market conditions. It already includes all fees.
What is the minimum received amount?
What is the minimum received amount?
The minimum received amount is the worst-case outcome within your slippage tolerance. If the price moves beyond it, the swap does not execute: on-chain routes revert, and deposit-address routes return your deposit to your refund address.
What fees apply?
What fees apply?
The L2Pass fee is 0% for stablecoin swaps, up to 0.2% for other assets, and up to 0.3% for private swaps, which replaces the standard fee. Routing partners and blockchains may charge their own fees, which L2Pass does not control; check each provider for the latest details. The actual fees are always shown on the swap page before you confirm, and the estimated amount on the destination network already includes all of them.
What is a private swap?
What is a private swap?
A private swap is executed in a confidential environment through NEAR Intents, which limits what is visible on public blockchains. It is not full anonymity: your wallet address is still shared with providers, and the same compliance screening applies. The L2Pass fee for a private swap is up to 0.3% (instead of 0% or 0.2%, not in addition), already included in the quoted amount.
Is L2Pass Swap non-custodial?
Is L2Pass Swap non-custodial?
Yes. L2Pass never holds or controls your tokens or private keys. Swaps are executed by independent third-party providers.
Do I need gas on the destination chain?
Do I need gas on the destination chain?
No. Gas is only needed on the source chain to send your transaction or deposit. Destination gas is only needed for what you do with the funds afterwards. For deposit-address routes, you can also send tokens manually from any wallet or exchange.
Can a swap be partially filled?
Can a swap be partially filled?
No. L2Pass does not use partial execution. A swap either completes in full or does not execute.
What happens if a swap fails?
What happens if a swap fails?
On-chain routes revert, so no tokens are exchanged, but network gas fees are not refundable. For deposit-address routes, your deposit is returned to your refund address; provider and network fees may be deducted from the refunded amount.
Can my swap be blocked or held?
Can my swap be blocked or held?
Providers apply risk-based AML and sanctions checks. If a provider flags a swap as high risk, it decides whether to complete, refund or hold it, and a refund is not guaranteed in that case. L2Pass cannot override a provider’s review. See the Privacy & AML Principles.
Do I need KYC?
Do I need KYC?
No. L2Pass does not require an account or identity verification for regular use. A provider may request additional checks for a specific transaction under its own compliance rules.
